Hey, everybody! Today I'm going to be talking about a new video that was posted online. It's called "Useless Avi," and it's been getting a lot of attention lately. This video is made by a YouTube user called, "The Cynical Brit." And in this clip, the narrator picks out the most useless avis he can find from YouTube. Some of these avis are really short and don't have many views, but others have tens of millions of views. And so what I want to do is help you decide which ones are worth checking out if you want to know more about how people use their time on YouTube than just watching videos all day long. In this example, the narrator shows us a video of a guy who is giving a tour of his house. The narrator says, "It's weird. Where does he get all of these stuff? How can he not be bored? He has so much space and there's so much space there." So in this case, we can tell that the view count is low because it's in focus and it's not in crazy color and there's not too many people in it so you're not going to get distracted by all of the different colors and just focus on this one person. So if you're going to put your video on YouTube, there's some tips I can give you. If you're going to put it on YouTube, then keep in mind that the more popular the video is, the more it seems like people are focused on that one person or that one thing. So big videos with big views are alright because they're fun surprises. There's something fresh about them, but small ones are boring because they're just kind of like watching somebody stare at their computer all day long. So when it comes to avis, if you want to make a popular avi or a good avi, you need to try and balance yourself out here. You don't need to get millions of views, but just a few will get you a good start. But if you're going to get started, one way to gear up your avi use is with something called the "Avatar Generator." This creates an avatar for you so that you can have a profile picture on YouTube. And I've tried this out a few times and it actually uses the same background as your desktop so if you have a nice looking background it can look really cool. In this example, I've chosen my avi from the generator and the narrator says that the one that came from this website was probably made by someone who had some experience using Photoshop. But there are also options to choose your own picture. I've chosen my own picture that I think is great because it has a lot of colors and some text on it that you don't see on most avis, like "wubmart" and stuff like that. So this gets you ahead of the game by having something unique on your avi instead of having some little image next to your name.
